Translation Guidelines
Translation Guidelines
TL;DR:
- Abide by the original producer’s song guidelines.
- Do not claim my translations as your own or anyone else’s.
- Do not use my translations in monetized work.
- Followed these guidelines? Good, thank you! Feel free to use my translations however you like. Crediting me is entirely optional.
Using my translations:
All I ask is that you abide by the original producer’s song usage guidelines, do not claim my translations as your own, and do not use my translations in monetized work.
Besides that, anything is fair game. As long as you do not claim that you/someone else wrote my translations, you are allowed to utilize my translations for personal use however you please - subbing, translyrics, personal projects, etc. You do not have to credit me if you do not want to. Just please do not claim my translation as your own, nor use my translations in monetized work. And, again, please keep the original producer’s guidelines in mind as well.
My exception to this above rule is if it is a group translation. If any of the translations on this blog has been done alongside other translators, I would appreciate if you could leave credit. If applicable, I list other translators at the top of each translation.
In general, you should not use my translation usage guidelines as a precedent for other translators’. Many other translators require credit, and that is reasonable. Please make sure to always read other translator’s guidelines before using.
For producers:
I’m terribly sorry about the awkward Japanese you’re about to witness, I’m genuinely embarrassed. I can translate JP to ENG, but seem to struggle with the vice-versa…
